Jack Petrunick
Hi! My name is Jack and I am a Kinesiologist here at Movenetics! I am originally from St. Catharines, Ontario but moved to Nova Scotia in 2019 to complete my undergrad at St. Francis Xavier University where I completed my Bachelors degree in Human Kinetics. Since graduating in 2024 I have been working in the fitness industry, most recently as a group Strength & Conditioning Coach at a local gym in the beautiful Annapolis Valley. Through my academic and athletic experience I have always known that I would love to combine my love for sports and my passion for movement as a form of rehabilitation, which is exactly what I have found here at Movenetics!
Growing up I was always involved in sports, playing hockey in the winters and baseball in the summers, until high school which is when I started rowing. This carried on throughout university where I was also fortunate enough to compete at the provincial level for team Nova Scotia in 2022. Through my experiences in sports, there were always setbacks and trips to physio where I would always get sent home with exercises and very little guidance. Not at Movenetics. I, along with everyone else at this clinic, believes in an active, hands-on approach which really brings the philosophy “movement is medicine” to life.
Outside of the clinic you can find me in the gym or on a run/bike or in the fridge trying to find something sweet. Inside the clinic you can find me on the turf working with clients on specific exercises to help with their rehabilitation journey (and probably talking about hockey). You can also find me running VALD Assessments on clients using various forms of technology to gather quantitative data to provide clients and clinicians with valuable information to help aid their rehab process. I can’t wait to meet you here at the clinic! Let’s do this!
